unboard

unboard is a free whiteboard you draw on with friends. Rooms stick around, anyone can join by link, and nobody needs an account.

What it is

Make a room, send the link, draw. That’s the whole onboarding. Strokes stream live as you draw them and replay for anyone who turns up later, so a room you left open last week is still there, with everything on it.

Everyone in a room is a cursor, tinted a random pastel with a name on it. You can chat straight from your cursor, drop a comment pin anywhere on the board, or fire emoji from the tray and watch them float off. There’s a built-in GIF search, through Klipy, so the board fills up with reaction GIFs about as fast as you’d expect. Paste a Spotify link and the track embeds and plays. It’s a whiteboard, but the point is the people on it.

Drawings, pins, GIFs and embeds persist per room. Cursors, chat and reactions are ephemeral and never stored, and nor is your IP. There are no accounts to make, which means there is also nothing to leak.

Stack

SvelteKit on Cloudflare Workers. Every room is one Durable Object handling its WebSockets through the Hibernation API, so an idle room costs nothing until someone draws on it again. Each room keeps its own DO-native SQLite store through Drizzle, which is what makes the replay free: the board is the database.
