1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve efficiency, and provide information to site operators. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixels.
2. Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for our services to function and cannot be disabled. They include:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookies | Maintain your logged-in state and session | Session |
| Security cookies | Prevent cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and protect against abuse | Session |
| Preference cookies | Store essential user preferences (e.g., theme) | 1 year |
These cookies do not require your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) as they are strictly necessary for the service you have requested.
2.2 Analytics Cookies
skowt.cc uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the site. These cookies collect information in an aggregated form.
We will only set analytics cookies with your consent. Analytics storage is switched off by default when the page loads, and is only enabled once you accept through our cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and Google Analytics receives only anonymous, cookieless page counts.
You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the site footer (see Section 4 below).
3. Third-Party Cookies
We aim to minimise the use of third-party cookies. Where third-party services are integrated (e.g., embedded content), those providers may set their own cookies. We encourage you to review their respective cookie policies.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We do not use tracking cookies for behavioural advertising or cross-site tracking.
4. Managing Cookies
You can control and manage cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect the functionality of our services.
- Opt-out of analytics: Use the Cookie settings link in the skowt.cc footer to reopen the consent banner and change or withdraw your choice at any time. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
